CIAO is a short video filmed with a mobile phone. It documents moments from a cruise trip that the artist attended with her father, a retired factory worker. Her father celebrated his 70th birthday and had only one wish – to go on a holiday with his daughter. The video is the artist's reflection on the personal history of her family, and the anxiety related to class that can not be erased by an expensive trip. It shows how class consciousness is being restructured into new modes of exploitation and displaced with the imperative of never-ending fun.
